A 4-berth Avida Birdville with a teal stripe, a slideout, and a habit of finding the best parks. She lives in Gulfview Heights with two humans who'd rather she was out exploring than sitting in the driveway.
We bought Izzy in 2024 because we were sick of driving past every "for hire" sign on the highway and never being one of those people. We took her out, kept taking her out, and ran out of weekends before we ran out of places to go.
So we put her on Camplify. Now the weeks we can't use her, someone else can — and she gets to do what motorhomes are made for instead of sitting in our driveway depreciating.
We've taken her up the Murray, around the Yorke, into the Fleurieu and the Flinders. She's good on dirt as long as it's reasonable and dry. She's not made for full off-grid bashing — she's made for the kind of trip where you sleep with the windows open and wake up to galahs.
If you book her, we'll meet you at our place in Gulfview Heights with the kettle on, do a real walkaround, and set you off with the linen made up. We're a text away the whole time you've got her.
Take your time. Don't try to do 800km in a day. Park up at sunset somewhere with a view. Cook a curry in the kitchen because you can. Take the kids out of school for two days during the week and tell yourself you'll catch up on Monday. Send Izzy a postcard on the socials.
Five days along the Murray — Walker Flat, Mannum, Swan Reach. The clifftop park at Headings Cliffs was Izzy's favourite. Fishing wasn't great. Sunsets made up for it.
Innes National Park, Pondalowie Bay. Sand dunes, deserted beaches, only a few other vans. Izzy got her tyres very dirty.
Long weekend down to Victor Harbor and Goolwa. Fish & chips on the foreshore. Izzy parked overlooking the causeway and we forgot what day it was.
Wilpena Pound, Brachina Gorge. Big country, bigger silence. The annexe earned its keep when the wind came up at Rawnsley Park.
